THE DJ Rally – YEAR BY YEAR

Stories abound about the DJ Rally – the trials and tribulations, the successes and the failures. The histories of each of the DJ events may be found by clicking on the appropriate year below.

The race was not run for 1915 to 1918 due to World War One. There were 20 solo races and 2 combination side-car races between 1913 and 1936.

The commemorative rally, first rally in 1970, was not run in 1974 due to fuel restrictions in South Africa at the time. In place of the rally a Motor Cycle Cavalcade event was held.
